How to Cook Fluffy Rice

To ensure fluffy, clump-free rice, follow these simple instructions.

How to Cook Rice on a Stove

  1. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. Stir in rice, using the rice to water ratio of 1:2¼.*
  2. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes or until all water is absorbed.

*For drier rice, use ¼ cup less water. Or, for moister rice, use ¼ cup more water.

How to Cook Rice in a Microwave

  1. In a 2-quart microwave-safe dish, combine 1 ½  cups water and 1 cup rice.
  2. Cover and microwave on HIGH for 20 minutes.**

**We recommend you only cook 1 cup of rice in the microwave at a time. Microwave ovens vary so these cooking times are approximate.
