Cutting back on your refined sugar intake? Medjool dates are an excellent source of wonderful and naturally sweet taste without all of the negative side effects.
These are more than just energy bites, they can also be made into a delightful dessert by rolling in cocoa powder. Not a fan of coconut shavings? Coat with finely chopped hazelnuts instead.
You can also serve this as a dessert tray. Instead of rolling the mixture into balls, line a baking tin with parchment paper and mold into the shape of the desired tin size. Refrigerate and before serving, carefully take out mixture by removing the parchment paper and place onto a serving platter. Remove the paper and top with cocoa powder, toasted coconut and chopped hazelnuts. Drizzle with remaining hazelnut butter for a more show-stopping presentation and top with fresh fruit like strawberries, raspberries or blueberries.
