Are you hip to the poke bowl trend? Well, don’t just read all about it, take the time to make it yourself! One thing we can promise you, it will be worth the trip to the supermarket. This Hawaiian-inspired Orange Miso Sesame Poke Bowl recipe is not only everything your heart desires from a poke bowl, but it’s also delightfully good for you. As far as were concerned, it makes the perfect meal, any day of the week.
Step 1
Cook the Mahatma® Short Grain Rice according to package directions and set aside to cool.
Step 2
Whisk together the soy sauce, orange juice, miso, honey, ginger and sesame oil.
Step 3
Divide rice among 4 bowls. Arrange smoked salmon, asparagus, carrots, avocado, edamame and pickled ginger over the top. Drizzle with dressing and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
As an added plus – this recipe is easy to adapt to your poke preferences. Don’t like salmon? Switch it out for tuna! Don’t like fish? Make it vegetarian by adding tofu instead of salmon. Don’t let your excuses get in the way of making the poke bowl of your dreams. Best part is, we’ve made the rice part easy, as our Mahatma® Short Grain Rice is made especially to accompany anything from rice puddings and fried rice to poke bowls and sushi. Nigerian coconut rice is a perfect side dish!
Not a pescatarian. For a vegetarian option, substitute tofu for salmon.
