Never cooked a risotto recipe in your rice cooker or Instant pot before? There’s a first time for everything and this recipe will show you how step by step.
No matter where it is prepared, the most important ingredient to any good risotto recipe is the rice. Our recipe calls for Mahatma® Arborio Medium Grain Rice because when cooked, the rice releases starch and absorbs the broth better, which creates a more compact texture. When added with cheese, it helps the rice to have a nice and creamy texture without turning too mushy.
The recipe also uses Italian ingredients like Prosciutto and Parmesan alongside green peas and other vegetables giving it a signature Italian taste.
If you don’t have a rice cooker and you’re interested in trying this recipe the old fashioned way, use our guide to help you prepare a perfect risotto in a skillet.
If you’re scratching your head over what white pepper is, it’s no mistake. Similar to black pepper, it comes from the pepper plant but white pepper tends to have a milder taste than black pepper.
