Rice Pilaf is a rice dish cooked in broth and spices to give it a fragrant and light and fluffy texture. It can be served as a side dish or prepared to accompany any of your favorite stir-fried vegetables or meat such as chicken, beef or pork.
This delicacy originated in Asia but has since expanded to many different forms and added flavors such as Indian Chicken Biryani, a Mexican Rice Instant Pot recipe, or a Spanish Paella Valenciana recipe.
As this dish is quite simple, using the right type of rice is key to getting the right texture and not ending up with sticky rice.
So, why use Jasmine Rice with Red and Wild Rice? Mahatma® has created a perfect blend of rice that will help you prepare fluffy Rice Pilaf perfectly every time. The long-grain fragrant Jasmine, when cooked, remains separate so it cooks more evenly and gives the dish a lighter texture rather than clumped together. Additionally, the red and wild rice add more color and texture to the dish making it more pleasing to eat and flavorful.
Now that you have the right rice, you’ll need a great broth of your choice. We recommend chicken broth but feel free to use what you like best and you can even check out our guide to making your own broth. Finally, simmer in your seasonings: parsley, thyme, sage, pepper and salt.
