If you’ve never made your own rice purees before, it’s quite simple. Start by rinsing a quality rice variety, we suggest Mahatma® White Rice or Mahatma® Organic Rice, depending on your preference. Rinsing the rice helps to clear off any excess starch and make sure it’s clean and ready, much like cleaning the carrots before putting them in.
Once your rice is rinsed, combine the water, carrots, and rice together and bring to a boil before letting them simmer together. This will help all of the ingredients soften sufficiently so that, when blended, the texture is soft and easily digestible.
Once the rice and vegetables are cooked through, blend up your ingredients and it’s ready to serve!
If you want to make a large batch for later use, we suggest storing them in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Can I freeze this rice puree? Yes, this rice and carrot puree can perfectly be frozen for later use. Just make sure to use it up within a month and when you’re ready to eat, thaw it in the refrigerator rather than on the countertop.
