Asian-inspired recipes are among our favorites, from Fried Rice to this enticing fresh salad. By mixing in watery fruits like Asian pear and mango with avocados and peppers, this dish has the right dose of fruits and vegetables to get you going. Add shrimp and brown rice for a hearty meal.
Our Mahatma® 100% Whole Grain Brown Rice cooks up separately and has a chewy texture that will help you enjoy every bite of this oriental-inspired salad. Also, its nutty flavor is the perfect match for the sesame seeds and the orange vinaigrette.
The best part about rice salads is the versatility – by interchanging some of the ingredients you can create a whole new dish that is just as delicious as the original. For instance, if you’re not into the citrus vinaigrette, drop the orange and dress your salad with soy sauce.
Jalapeño peppers not adding that spicy touch? Marinate the shrimp with spicy sauce before cooking and they are sure to be on fire with flavor in a few minutes soaking.
Not into mangoes? That’s ok, double up on pears and try adding some coconut flakes to maintain the exotic touch.
